Dear Mr. President Bill Clinton,

We give our respect to you, and tell the truth for conference.

Taiwan, the island was not given to anyone, not the ROC and not the PRC. This not to say that there was no intention of returning Taiwan to China. It is decided by Taiwan people's will; forever.

Singapore, May 28-communist China's army can take Taiwan by force anytime, if the United States does not interfere, an unidentified mainland Chinese army divisional commander was quoted as saying Wednesday (May 27, 1998) in Singapore's main newspaper.

"The 1996 missiles tests made clear to all three sides--- Beijing, Taipei and Washington-that China has the military capability to take back Taiwan by force. If there is no intervention from the U.S'." the Straits Times quoted the officer of the People's Liberation Army as saying.

"Beijing wants to keep quiet (on this fact) because it does not want to appear to be belligerent." the anonymous officer was quoted as saying.

"Taipei wants to keep quiet because acknowledging it will only serve to destabilize society; and Washington wants to keep quiet lest it be drown into a major international crisis".

"Without American intervention, taking back Taiwan will be just like picking up something from one's own pocket." the anonymous commander was quoted as saying. "We are in no hurry, we can wait." he was quoted as saying "when conditions are ripe, success will come."

From the above saying; Taipei's condition is dangerous; Taiwan need United States' help.

Sincerely Yours,
Yang Hsu-Tung.
