Dear Mr. Vice President Al Gore,
   Mr. Newt Gingrich,
   Mr. Trent Lott,

Beijing's "one China" principle which recognizes Taiwan as part of China, such kind of tough preach have disobeyed Taiwan people's wills. Everyone of Taiwanese don't want to make war with Beijing. At the recent period; nevertheless poll result also signify that Beijing will have no appeal to Taiwan people if it fails to implement democracy and uphold freedom.

On the other hand; the warming of U.S.-mainland China relations has triggered nervousness in Taiwan and island's pro-independence groups about Taiwan's future.

The ruling KMT officially favors eventual reunion with the mainland, but maintains that this would impossible before the communist party drops its power monopoly and embraces multiparty democracy.

Despite being dumped by Washington in 1979, Taiwan has been among Asia's best students of U.S.-style democracy.

Taiwan's problem isn't whether U.S. policy has shifted over the past three decades, but rather that Taiwan itself has changed so profoundly so much so that old policies no longer seem to fit.

Only Taiwan people do in earnest to make a choice for Taiwan future. We have rights to decide whether Taiwan is a part of China or not.

Democratic Taiwan have elected "President of R.O.C in Taiwan", in which we are enjoying high grade of human rights and freedom.

In another word; Taiwan people acknowledge both side of Chinese governments whose right or not.

So, it's no wonder that Taiwan feels baffled and threatened by Clinton's reassurances.

Taiwan need your help!

Sincerely Yours,
Yang Hsu-Tung.
