大地養護機構主任的話
目前台灣已步入高齡化社會，失能的老人成為一般家庭最大的負擔。而此沉重的壓力，何時得以解除，卻往往遙遙無期。大地養護機構的成立，就是為了因應社會及家庭的需要，提供老人最妥善、最人性化的照護服務。現在養護機構設有安養病床20床。另外特別成立日間托老—長青活動中心，讓老人來此參與同齡層之活動，感受被尊重與關懷。

一、養護費用
（一）入院養護：

（一）入院養護
服務對象：
1.中風導致全癱或半癱致生活不能自理者
2.罹患慢性病致行動不便需長期照顧者。
不宜進住者：
情況不穩定或患有傳染病、精神病、行為 會干擾別人者不宜進住。
（二）日間托老
凡行動方便或輕度殘障之長者，可參予日間托老服務。
（三）服務項目
1.生活照顧 2.護理照顧 3.基本復健
4.日常生活訓練 5.休閒育樂
（四）申請程序
登記—協談—評估—收案
三、捐獻餘款
（一）購買土地，建立永久養護基地。
（二）維持開支，員工薪資。
（三）擴展服務範圍。
（四）擴充養護收容量。
宗 旨
為需要安養服務的老殘人士做養護工作。
特 色
一、由具有中西學養的合格醫師，定期做醫療服務。
二、貧苦病患可會同當地社會局入院療養。
三、不以營利為目的，所得盈餘做為安養基金，以嘉惠貧困之殘障安養老人。
四、辦理日間照護服務。
說 明
本機構設立於台中市區八期重劃區內，限於土地購買的經費龐大，故暫時長期租地經營。本會結合中國醫藥學院、省立台中醫院、省立彰化醫院的醫護人員為主體，組織而成立“公益”養護機構。
本機構監護人員皆受到良好的訓練，包括對病患輔導、心理治療，並不定期舉辦慶生會、親子園遊會，以健全良好親子關係，使患者能得到妥善的調理。本機構設立免費義診，中西醫師義務診療與
復健、針灸、氣功治療，並與弘光醫專、省立彰化老人養護中心密切聯繫，不斷派員進修，以確保服務品質，希望入院的病患得到最好的照顧。
本機構由於場地不足，只能收容二十床以維護照顧的一定水準。經營如此機構開支甚大，請社會大德，量力支援。
注意事項
希望家屬能夠儘量抽出時間，參與餵食、懇談、親和的工作，以盡人子之孝道。

We want to give a message for you : "Elder and disabled care is everyone's
responsibility". "Elders are everyone's parents, they need more respect and
love."
(Ⅰ) Our Service
A. Daily Care:
Care of drinks, food and daily life (including help with bathing, feeding and laundry).
Contact with family and friends etc.
B. Nursing Care:
Nurses deliver medicine, measure blood pressure and physical temperature, pat back,
extract phlegm etc. Maintain health of the elders to the best of their physical condition
and keep away worsening phenomena.
C. Our Center is in coordination with hospitals from which medical specialists are invited
over for clinical work of every branches of the medical science. We also do regular health
check-ups.
D. Rehabilitation specialists are to give necessary treatments of all sorts in accordance
with the practical situation and instruction of the doctors.
E. In cases of urgent and serious diseases, the cared are transferred to the hospitals
with pt's families for treatments.
F. Activities of recreation and birthday celebration are held and religious services are
offered to the elders to make them feel good and keep them away from loneliness.
G. Ancient remedy - Chi-Kung to be a assistant treatment for Chi-imbalance of
patients.Traditional Chinese herbs would be taken by order in which lower side-effects
suitable for elder and weak patients.
H. Receiving application for care and protection offering information in regard with care
of elders, giving instruction of special services, and receiving visitors from outside.
I. Inviting and training volunteers for the tasks, and letting social resources to take
part in all kinds of service operation at the Center so that service quality may be
raised.
J. To share the joy of their families, we ask for patients' families or friends as a
companion. Arrang them over night at weekend or holiday in our Center.
(Ⅱ) Rational Concepts of Service
A. Love:
In addition to some special knowledge and technology, what a tender needs most is a
"loving heart" to warm up the hearts of silvery haired elders who are helpless
because they suffer from chronic diseases or paralysis. It is the consensus of all the
personnel at this Center to have such a loving heart as makes the dependent elders
enjoy like attending and caring for parents done by their children.
B. Patience:
Whether we can constantly keep our enthusiasm of devoted service for long is a very trying
challenge. The attitude of the workers at this Center is to face the sick as their own
family which is expressed in tender care, pleasant tending,careful listening and gentle
talking etc. It is patience expressed in a manner of "tirelessness"
which is to reach the service realm of "compassion" and "enjoyment".
C. Constancy:
Only by putting "private love" that one has for one's parents into
"constant love" for allthe aged, can we make "love" and "
patience" eternal. A tradition for the workers to put their filial piety into
unlimited regards for other elders is being made at this Center.
D. Sincerity:
The Center is ever seeking after "higher" and "better" quality of
service. We believe that only sincere concern from the bottom of heart and polite service
can make the aged feel dignity of man, and that is the goal of service quality lift.
E. Convenience:
Every cared elder has his physiological difficulty and inconvenience. Therefore,
"convenience" in his daily life is a matter of urgent need. However, under the
care and protection offered by this Center where equipment is perfect and proper
activities are available, the elders should be able to feel that they have found a new
wonderful land of peace where they can now enjoy a beautifully colored sky of dusk.
F. Satisfaction:
Combining the rational concepts with methods of enterprise management and getting rid of
the stereotype image of government-run facilities, all the workers at quality so as to
satisfy the cared elders and their families.
Future Prospect:
It is the greatest object of this Center to establish a model facilities for the care of
the aged. Therefore, it is the concrete object of this Center to set up standards for
equipment, caring quality and service concepts that can be referred to. To prospect for
the future, in addition to building a perfect care center which all admission would
comfort, the following constitute the direction in which our endeavor may be directed.
A. Opening Day Care Service:
The maximum accommodation of this Center is 200 beds which only relieve part of the social
demand of caring the aged. Beside encouraging to set up more public or private facilities
of the like. The Center can expand its scope of service with theexisting resources and
equipment to offer Day Care Service for the aged who live within an hour's commuting
distancethose who do not need stay the whole day to enjoy warmth of their own homes at the
same time. Demands for more such care centers as ours might be thus refrained. Besides,
the experience gained through day care servic will be base for future employment.
B. Community Circulation Extension Education:
Based on concept that "Concerns of family greatly influence the physical and mental
health of the cared elders", family education before enrollment of their elders will
be prepared. The family will be informed of common sense of home care for the aged and
what is going on in the Center, so that part of the charts, as link to computer, video
tapes etc. In the light of the particular experiences of the Center, for the extension
education of every corner of the country will be an essential task of the Center.
C. Setting up Training Center for Home Care:
By making good use of the perfect establishments and excellent works. The Center will
provide courses for " specialists", "semi-specialists",
"families", "volunteer workers", "home care tenders for elders at
homes" etc. to attain its functional purpose of demonstration and extension of
tending the aged.
D. Combine with hospital care and hotel service.
