Dear Mr. Kofi A. Annan,
Mr. Newt Gingrich,
Mrs. Hillary Rodham Clinton,
Mrs. Madeleine Korbel
Albright,
Why Indonesia's ethnic Chinese afraid to tell anyone what happened during the riots ?
There is a good reason to ask its why'
A teenage activist who was counseling ethnic Chinese women who had been raped during
Indonesia's riots in May was found stabbed to death and apparently sexually assaulted in
her home.
The body of 17-year-old Martadinata Haryono, a high school senior, was discovered in
her bedroom on Friday night (October 9, 1998) by her father with 50 knife wounds and head
was almost cut off at the throat.
Miss Haryono and her mother, Winwin, both worked for volunteers for Humanity, one of
several volunteer group recently established to counsel ethnic Chinese victims of the
unrest. Colleagues said that Miss Haryonon and her mother were planning to travel to the
United States with some rape victims prepared to testify about the rapes to human rights
group
Human rights groups say that at least 168 women, mostly ethnic Chinese, were raped
during the unrest in Indonesia, which killed 1,200 people and led to the resignation of
President Suharto.
In stead of; Miss Haryono also a member of Indonesia's ethnic Chinese
minority. The Indonesia government have announced there are not any evidence for proof of
ethnic Chinese women were raped during riot.
It is the time for saving Indonesia from "chaos".
We hope your power of justice can help the losing country.
God be with you!
Sincerely Yours,
Yang Hsu-Tung.
