Dear Mr. Dana Rohrabacher,
Mr. Trent Lott,
Mr. Newt Gingrich,
Reports from Majuro, Dec. 10 ---
The Marshall Islands is making the most of its unique and perhaps short lived status as
the only country in the world with embassies of both the People’s Republic of China and
the ROC on Taiwan. The Marshalls wants to maintain a “two Chinas” policy, with
friendly relations with both Taiwan and mainland China. Beijing, however, is enraged by
the Marshalls’ diplomatic link with Taipei.
In our view; two Chinas policy is the best way for every countries to link Taiwan
and PRC. So as the Foreign Minister government Phillip Muller said that:
A.“We’re moving really fast. We want to show tangible results”.
B. Diplomatic relations with Taiwan were established because “the social and economic
well-being of the Marshall Islands takes priority over everything else”.
C. “Our government is looking at ways to bring up the country economically relations
with the Republic of China often a good opportunity for growth”.
D. “We want to be friends with the PRC, and strengthen relations”.
But mainland Chinese ambassador Zhou Lianyi met with Muller earlier this week,
repeating his statement to the media that the Marshalls “must correct its mistake”
and withdraw recognition of Taiwan.
In our view; we are waiting and see what would happen again; at the recent time,
flags of the two rival nations continue flying over their respective embassies that are
located just 100 meters apart in the small island capital.
Chinese help Chinese if both side of Chinese respected each other, the hope of
reunification will be established by sharing international diplomacy. Taiwan need
your support that Clinton’s “three no’s” hurt democratic Taiwan; we struggle
with two Chinas’ diplomatic policy to against Beijing’s international isolation for a
long time.
Reports said that, Manila, Dec. 10 ---
U.S. legislator Thursday (Dec. 10, 1998) accused mainland China of aggression by
sending three “warships” to a disputed reef in the Spratlys chain which is also
claimed by the Philippines. The Philippines last month accused Beijing of expanding
permanent structures on the reef in violation of a code of conduct to pressure peace in
the area signed last year.
Above reports revealed the fact that mainland China is a “trouble maker” and the
source of the instability in Asia.
Sincerely Yours,
Yang Hsu-Tung.
