Taiwan's four hundred years of history was written in blood and tears
Taiwan has over four hundred years of history; during the course of which was filled with blood, tears, fright and struck. Two hundred years before Cheng Chen-Kung came to rule Taiwan, it was in the hands of the Spanish, followed by the Dutch. It was a time when numerous fugitives, fishermen and pirates came to Taiwan by sea from the mainland. The Spanish made use of official organizations to rule over the people efficiently.
