Dear Mr. Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto,

I am very pleasure to hear that; Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto at the coastal spa resort of Kawana will focus on boosting economic and political cooperation after decades of distrust exacerbated by a bitter territorial dispute between Russia. Otherwise; on Asia currency crisis, the old story of "comfort women" is always a important issue for Asian countries. Civil rights groups and Chongdaehyop, an association of former "comfort women", angrily rejected the move that Seoul cough up money, saying it was a matter of principal not of money". (Seoul, April 13, 1998)

Despite Presidential spokesman Park Jie-Won said "It will be good to provide compensation money to the victims as soon as possible, given the fact that they are getting older." But Seoul's position has been to urge the women not to accept the money, saying it goes against government attempts to wring a sincere apology from Tokyo and demand government, not private pay outs.

Tokyo's response has been to set up a private, not a government fund, to compensate the women, most of whom are now very elderly. Seven South Korea "comfort women" have accepted payments from the private fund so far. The truth cannot changed by "compensation". Japanese Imperial Army is not a group of private fund. Imperial country need Imperial courage to apology from Japanese government.

"The newly coming generation have been decaying the loss of "responsibility" and "obligation", only "repentance" of post history that could solve Japanese's sin. So it call back ancient spirits of noble Japanese.

Remember that; some 200,000 women from countries occupied by Japan including China, the Philippines and Indonesia---where some Dutch girls were also press-ganged---served in the army brothels. The most of them would not speak out because of the shame of their post.

Do God's will! Please call back "ancient spirits" with heartily apology from your government. That is not the shame of Japanese. This is the key to open "dark smog" in which everyone of Japan enjoy himself on sunshine holiday.

Sincerely Yours,
Yang Hsu-Tung.
