Dear Mrs. Madeleine Korbel Albright:
Let me have a apologize to interrupt your regular time. It is so sorrow to tell you
that Joseph S. Nye, Jr. dean of Harvard's Kennedy school of Government.
Nye says: "The growth of democracy in Taiwan is an important achievement, but it
has introduced increased uncertainly."
Nye offers a three part package to solve strait tension.
First, the U.S. should state clearly that its "one China" policy includes
"no use of force" and make it clear that America would not recognize a
declaration of Taiwan independence. Moreover, the U.S. would work hard to discourage other
countries from recognizing such a declaration.
Second, Beijing would broaden its "one country, two systems" approach to Hong
Kong to "one country, three systems". That would give Taiwan more international
living space, allowing it more opportunities to participate as it has in APEC and
Olympics.
Third, Taiwan's contribution to reducting tension is really quite simple. It has only
to confirm that it is part of "one China", then using Beijing definition, which
hold that it is a PRC province, pledge to intensify the cross-strait dialogue, and
increase its mainland investment.
Taiwan is a small island but on Nye's position appears to be that Taiwan is primarily
to blame for cross-strait tensions. China mainland is a big brother should ignore that
Taiwan's democratic phenomena.
Chinese communist is crushing of human rights and freedom of religion next door, ignore
the systematic destruction of Tibetan culture, cast a blind eye at the dismantling of
democratic institution in Hong Kong.
Taiwan replaces martial law and a Leninist-style state with a vigorous, multiparty
democracy; it turns an agricultural society into one of the world's strongest trading
powers. It becomes a significant exporter of investment, humanitarian aid, and
agricultural and technological assistance.
All of the Taiwanese fruitful result, is to be urged to subordinate itself quickly and
firmly to a decade-old authoritarian enemy that has made promise breaking and crushing of
democracy into terror.
The Republic of China sacrifice its name and right of determining its future, then turn
loose all those investors to help China develop its economy. For a reason; that's mainland
China would attack Taiwan because of "self-determination" is independence.
United State is the best friend of Taiwan. Its democratic model had learned from American.
What's thinking about logical method, music, movie and human right are copied from
American's way. Taiwanese kept Chinese ancient tradition and mixed democratic thought in
which it built democracy and economic dragon of Asia.
The only significant problems is U.S. would betry Taiwan to link Chinese Communist
share the advantage of political issue.
I want to understand the situation of U.S.. What's insist on Taiwan?
