That story is old hat; people have known it because of "India's bomb test".
The second-most populous country after China, India has been struggling economically
seeking and wherever it is offered. Despite its economic plight and supposed military
weakness, it has been having border disputes with Pakistan political. India has been in a
non-alignment position since it declared independence from Britain.
Thus, in a way, it is isolated from the world powers and often despised by them. It is
perhaps understandable that the New Delhi government sought the ability to produce nuclear
weapons. The people in India must have be delighted their country is now a nuclear state.
With a nuclear state to its South, communist China may seek to escalate its nuclear
capability. Taiwan could, as a consequence, face a more formidable enemy if the situation
in Taiwan strait remains tense.
Taipei and Beijing have been engaging in a diplomatic battle, with Taipei trying to
forge diplomatic ties with as many allies as possible to justify its status as sovereign
state. While Beijing is sparing no efforts to isolate the island diplomatically.
Nuke test has made one of the strongest in the world. India do it, perhaps; Pakistan
