With its four hundred years of immigration history, Taiwan has now
built up an independent, prosperity, democratic and liberal polity on this
island called Formosa. This achievement has not been gained easily, nor
can it be ignored or betrayed.
Taiwan is, without a doubt, a member of the global village as well
as a nation with an open, global viewpoint. It is not a province of China,
and should never be sacrificed in the process of unification. Taiwan makes
possible the future of all Chinese, and under their expectation, Taiwan
will lead the democratization of the “Red China.”
The purpose of this Ritual Assembly is to resolve Taiwan’s
domestic crisis and to pray for Taiwan to become to be as a pretty and perfect country.
