Dear Mr. Vice President Al Gore,
Mrs. Madeleine Korbel
Albright,
Beijing, Jan. 13 ---
Mainland China accused the United States on Wednesday
of using human rights to meddle in its internal affairs.
"We are opposed to the use of so-called human rights problems
to meddle in other nations' internal political affairs", the
Foreign Ministry said in reaction to strong criticism from U.S.
Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.
The other reports from China's official media yesterday (Jan. 13,
1999) slammed veteran dissident Wei Jingsheng for playing a two-week
visit to Taiwan, accusing him of working with Taipei
to prevent Cross-Strait unification. The People's
Daily said Wei's late December visit was ill-advised and would have
a negative impact on relations between the two rivals, separated
since the 1949 Chinese civil war.
"While in Taiwan, Wei cursed the communists and praised the
Taiwan authorities" the paper said. "They gave him a good
opportunity and he responded in kind", by attacking Beijing's
unification policies and criticizing the mainland's ruling party,
the paper said.
Wei urged Taipei to play a more active role in China's democratization
even at the risk of angering Beijing. "Taiwan is already a
democracy. This is what upsets the Chinese communists the most"
Wei said before his meeting with President Lee. "The
Chinese communists will always be unhappy unless you (Taiwan) accept
their rule", the People's Daily said that by
hosting Wei in December and the Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai
Lama in 1997.
Taiwan had attempted to show its resolve in resisting the Communist
Party, China has refused to rule out the use of force to stop Taiwan
from declaring independence.
In our view;
A. Beijing authorities can not accept any kinds of criticism,
because of "disgrace".
B. Beijing authorities never wrong with anything what's going on
incorrigibility of itself.
C. Beijing authorities can say "no" to any country in
our world, because of "emotion" disturbance.
D. Beijing authorities controlled "human rights", because
of "fear".
E. Beijing authorities say "yes" or "no" to
decided anything despite honest.
However; mainland China needs give guidance.
