Essence of the Ritual Assembly
--- The Heavenly Duty of People in
Taiwan--- By Yang Hsu-Tung (Nov. 25, 1999)
With its four hundred years of immigration history, Taiwan has now built up an
independent, prosperity, democratic and liberal polity on this island called Formosa. This
achievement has not been gained easily, nor can it be ignored or betrayed.
Taiwan is, without a doubt, a member of the global village as well as a nation with an
open, global viewpoint. It is not a province of China, and should never be sacrificed in
the process of unification. Taiwan makes possible the future of all Chinese, and under
their expectation, Taiwan will lead the democratization of the “Red China.”
The purpose of this Ritual Assembly is to resolve Taiwan’s domestic crisis and to pray
for the realization of the heavenly duty --- “Taiwanese loves each other, and Taiwanese
brings hope to all Chinese.” With “New-Taiwanese” people’s philosophy of Political
Utopia, we hope to speed up the democratization of mainland China. It is the key to a
peaceful
unification between Taiwan and China in the future, as mandated by Heaven.
