Taiwan's compulsory education places its emphasis on higher education, while sacrifices younger generation's moral education and development

Children in the past were absolutely obedient the teacher's words, but now this phenomenon is rarely seen. Today's education put a lot of emphasis on furthering one's education level, so teachers offer supplementary classes to better students' chances of getting into a good school in the near future. Unfortunately there are always a lot of children who are not good at studying. When this fact is coupled with the fact that children's virtue development is neglected and thought to be not so important by the society as a whole, the whole process of education can seem very disappointing to these children. During the process of learning, children have no other choice but to learn subjects that are neither very useful nor practical in their real life, like foreign history and geography. These are all subjects requiring good memorization, but more often than not children tend to forget these unpractical knowledge soon after the examination. When they are asked about Taiwan's history and culture, their brains go blank! Besides, we also see a lot of scenes in which politicians fight with each other in the parliament house on the daily news! Taiwan has four hundred years of history, but we still haven't learnt to live in harmony with one another; instead, we kill each other but do not have the guts to face our enemies with the same "bravery". Briberies and corruption are typical phenomena in the political realm; even if the civilians hate those corrupted officials into their bones, they still do not dare to speak out, but sought other means to let out their anger and dissatisfaction.

There is however, a cultivation method that can be used to better Taiwan's society. When a society is in a big turmoil, many religious organizations are established to suit the needs of their followers. These religious organizations often claim: (1) their founder is the reincarnation of a great deity. Often these religious founders have a very special charm about them and/or a strong will power in them; people tend to fall vulnerable under their charms and power easily. (2) The founders are capable of performing miracles, making the impossible possible. (3) Whether their doctrines are logical or not, as long as they can give positive influences to the followers' mentality, the latter tend to take in everything the religion claims. There are also religions that center their doctrines around the coming of "Judgement Day;" people are attracted to the religion often because they think the founder possesses some kind of power to postpone or eliminate catastrophes. Hence it often renders necessary that religion founders must set examples by their own action and words, and constantly perform miracles to strengthen followers' devotion and faith.
