Escalating Tensions between Mainland China and Taiwan

Democratic country as Israel, it sell a sophisticated airborne surveillance system to mainland China, that relating with escalating tensions between mainland China and Taiwan.

Israeli’s media reports said the United States has linked some of its annual U.S.$3 billion in foreign aid to Israel to cancellation of the deal.

U.S. Defense Secretary William Cohen said he expressed his opposition to the sale in a meeting with Barak Monday morning.

In our view, democratic Israel doesn’t want to support democratic Taiwan, because of the “money” first.

“The United States does not support the sale of this kind of technology to … China because of the potential of changing the strategic balance in that region,” Cohen added.
