Should Not Be Sold to the Chinese |
August 11, 2000 --- A majority of likely voters oppose the sale of military high technology to China, according to a recent Zogby America survey. A recent poll of 1, 008 likely independent voters showed that 88.7% said they were against the sale of military technology to China compared with 7% who supported such sales. Another 2.2% took neither position and 2.1% were not sure. Liberals and conservatives both agreed that such information should bot be sold to China, with 82% and 93.4% respectively. Among ethnic groups, whites were most opposed to shipping technology to China with 91.4% against such sales and only 5.4% in favor. African Americans were also opposed (74% against, 15.7% support) as were Hispanics (80.5% oppose, 9.8% support).
