CLARIFICATION
The kicker ¡§Tilting at windmills¡¨ that initially appeared with the subhead on
Monday¡¦s front-page report on US Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen¡¦s warning to
China not to interfere in Taiwan¡¦s presidential election and her expression of
support for Taiwan was ill-chosen. It was not the Taipei Times¡¦ intention to
disparage the congresswoman¡¦s ceaseless efforts in support of Taiwan. We
apologize for any distress our wording may have caused.
