    | Reestablishing Taiwanese people's confidence is
utterly important When psychological modulations do not work,
there will arise refuting behaviors that are also "Compensation" and
"Displacement" at work. Like during the time when Taiwan was occupied by
Japanese troops, Japanese police officers were very powerful. So whenever the children
were disobedient, parents would threaten them with warnings that if they do not behave
properly, they will be sent to the police station. Hence the children had grown to refute
to the police force. On the other hand, adolescent's physical development is faster than
their mental development, and often they are physically mature enough to have sexual
relation with the opposite sex but unfortunately not having sufficient understanding about
sexual behaviors or sexuality as a whole. And also, children who are born athletes or good
at athletics, they usually do not get the society's recognition. Taiwan's adult education
is a failure, adolescent's education is even worse; young people nowadays are constantly
pressured and there seem to lack the means for them to let out their anger and pressures.
Sooner or later Taiwan will become an island full of maniacs; when young people find our
society to be intimidating to them they would begin to regress. ( knowing that behind
mania is depression. ) Taiwan's society today is facing spiritual straits, if we do not
find ways to improve this situation, it will soon lead to massive societal turmoil and
    unrest.
There are two kinds of people who actively take part in street protests and strikes: (1)
those who feel that the society has failed them, and (2) are those who depress their
feelings like anger and hatred deep down in their hearts, waiting for a chance to explode.
Some elderly people seem very gentle at home, but when they join a strike they can become
very violent and aggressive, because they have been pressing down their emotions for too
long, and now has come the time for them to let it all out. In a way it is good for these
elderly to let out their hidden emotions at a place where there are a lot of people,
because they are old and public opinion would display comparably high level of tolerance
towards their behaviors. When people feel they are wronged, disappointed in Taiwan's
society or feel pressured by outside forces, they naturally partake in street protests
with many others that share the same frustration. If the protest was not properly arranged
beforehand, sometimes it could turn out to be a violent and bloody incident. Usually, if
the protest organizer is a charismatic figure, everyone's mood is easily swung and
controlled by him; not many people know why did they act violently in a street riot in
most cases. Therefore, a protest demonstration should arrange pre-protest education and
rehearsals before it really takes place, in order to avoid unpleasant scenes from
happening. The good side of street protests is that, it provides a good opportunity for
people to let out their dissatisfactions and depressed emotions, but on the other hand, it
also disrupts other civilian's peaceful life. In the process of Taiwanese people's
personality development, Taiwanese went through a history of dominance by various ethnic
groups and in the end governed by the National Party; there is nevertheless a touch of
disappointment and lost in their hearts. In the education of our new generation, the
government fails to emphasize how important Taiwan is to the continuity of a Chinese
nation as well as Taiwan's real historical development background. This ignorance
unfortunately leads to the new generation's carelessness and a lack of the sense of
belonging towards Taiwan. Taiwan's overemphasis on its economic growth has misled other
countries to think they have only business relationships with Taiwan, which further
mislead Taiwanese to think money is their only token when it comes to international
partnerships. This is a very pathetic state we are in.
