A Taiwan girl Kartya who was stolen from her mother 17 years ago, finally came home early yesterday (June 16, 1998) morning after an emotional reunion with her birth mother as well as a sister she never knew had in Taipei.

Kartya story has closely tied between Australia and Taiwan. Everyone in Taiwan are gratulating to adaptive father and mother-Mr. Othmar and Mrs. Wunderle.

The happy end is: Mrs. Wunderle, who was due to fly back to Australia, has extended her stay here and Kartya's adaptive father, Othmar, was scheduled to arrive in Taiwan today (June 17, 1998). Kartya will remain in Taiwan for two months to get to know her new family.

Jesus said: "The kingdom of heaven is like this, a woman takes some yeast and mixes it with forty litres of flour until the whole batch of dough rises." Mr. Othmar and Mrs. Wunderle act as "yeast", isn't it?

Contrast to Mrs. Pauline Hanson; she said "Nobody can control me" after the white Australia policy was abolished in 1973. Hanson published a book last year that said aborigines were cannibals that ate their woman and children. She describes Asian neighborhoods as crime and drug ridden ghettos. She has called for a cutoff of Asian immigration to keep Australia from being "swamped by Asians". But the longer waits, the harder the Australian economy will be hit by the Asian economic crisis, which is just beginning to ripple here. Mr. Howard will become even more vulnerable on economic issues.
