Car-dragging crime reported in the United States in a week(June 10, 1998). A Louisiana black man has told authorities he was dragged along side a car by three white men who taunted him with racial epithets.

The incident followed a nation wide furor over the death of a black man dragged behind a pick up truck in Jasper, Texas, and a possible copycat crime in Belevile, Illinois.

Three men with alleged links to white supremacist groups have been arrested and charged with the Texas killing. In the Illinois incident, a black teenage reported he was dragged along side a sport utility vehicle driven by three white youths yelling racial shers.

Many blacks were humiliated by Ku Klux Klan or other white supremacy group for a long time. Students of American history have pointed to the significance of race and ethnicity in the shaping of America.

In view of our investigation, the early subjugation of native populations, the enslavement of black from Africa, the prejudicial treatment of religious minorities and the discrimination against people of color are all parts of the cumulative American heritage.

At each historical juncture marked by economic crisis, racial and ethnic minorities have been singled out as scapegoats, lynched, persecuted, or excluded.

"I wish that the race commission would hold a town hall meeting in Jasper and seek to get some of the glass out of the wound as we proceed toward healing." a civil rights leader Jesse Jackson told ABC television.

"These are supremacists, anti-black, anti-Semitic, homophobic anti-government; armed dangerous and known." Jackson said.

His comments came exactly one year after Clinton launched his "conversation about race" campaign, a national dialogue on how to improve relations between various ethnic groups in the United States.

The fire of racial massacre would be ignited by the incident attacked in the tiny town of Jasper, Texas where a black man was allegedly dragged to his death by three white men.

Australia has been successful because you are a tolerant society and a multicultural society, we can't imagine Australia moving away from that.

We would be deplorable if other parties tried to play the extremist card in the run-up to the next general election. Racial trouble on America history was warming rampant crisis. On the other hand, Asian immigrants and aboriginal are living with peace in Australia.

That have not any reasons to provoke a conflict.

For Australia's benefit and stability, we respect Prime Minister John Howard talked tough on Monday(June 14, 1998) " We need to pursue policies that strengthen Australia. That is why we intend to maintain our reform agenda."

The policies despite simmering divisions within ruling coalition over how to deal with populist politician Pauline Hanson.

Confucius said "One should worry not about having no official position, but about having no proper qualifications. One should not seek to be known to others, but seek to acquire the qualities worthy of being known."
