Dear Mr. Chancellor Gerhard Schr"der,

Beijing, Dec. 13 ---

Police have detained two more mainland Chinese dissidents, and the student author of a petition demanding the release of a pro-democracy leader charged with subversion has disappeared, a human rights group said Sunday (Dec. 13, 1998).

The detentions bring to as many as 15 the number of people picked up by police during an increasingly intense, two-week-old cracked down on the would be China Democratic Party.

' A law student at Ningho University in the southern city of Ningho, has been missing since Friday (Dec. 12, 1998). She had gotten 10 fellow students to sign a petition calling for Wang's release. "Her friends and fellow students' believe she has been detained by police" the center said in a statement to reporters in Beijing.

Hong Kong, Dec. 13 ---

The Hong Kong government is desperately opposed to democracy and unless local democrats take a strong lead the chance for universal suffrage is Shin, a human rights group warned Sunday (Dec. 13, 1998).

The Hong Kong Human Right Monitor, in a comprehensive report on May 1998 elections here, called on pro-democracy groups to organize a constitutional convention to decide on a democratic system for the territory. "It is clear from the elaborate lengths which the government has gone to reduce the franchise and create obstacles for the 1998 election ' that the government is desperately opposed to democracy" said the report, complied with the help of international observers.

On the other hand; Beijing government afraid of democratic activity, could hurt the position of leaders in power.

In our mind ' respect above all things your conscience; have upon our lips the truth implanted by God in your hearts, and , while laboring in harmony. Even with those who differ from you, in all that tends to the emancipation of our soul.

Yet ever bear your own banner erect and boldly promulgate your own faith. In our view; our people lost their moral coverage. On contrary; in our world, hypocrisy under pressure of political force that connected with weapon's threat, have the prior position to speak "what's the order want to obey".

Every country respected Taiwan, but on the other hand, Taiwan's position in our world is isolated by communist China. It is very hard to find the "moral courage" to support Taiwan in international meeting.

Taiwan need your support.

Sincerely Yours,
Yang Hsu-Tung.
