Dear Mr. President Clinton,

Let's East Timor's free is the wise way for Indonesia.

Canberra, Feb. 19 ---
Australian diplomats in Indonesia have warned in a series of confidential diplomatic cables that an independent East Timor would collapse into chaos and violence according to a newspaper report on Friday.

The Melbourne Age Newspaper said the cables warned that as many as 15,000 people could flee their homes in East Timor if the territory won independence from Indonesia. The cables predicted an escalation of violence, a breakdown of basic services and economic collapse, the newspaper reported.

In our views; there are somewhat troubles in East Timor; before independence that would be a lot of rumor was spread by political plot.

Washington, Feb. 19 ---
The White House warned Friday that the deadline was firm for a Kosovo peace pact and that the Serbs face "very real consequences" if they back at an agreement.

In our views; the question is, how to deploy NATO's troops.

Washington, Feb. 19 ---
U. S. First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton is scheduled to meet with retiring
Democratic Sen Daniel Moynihan on Friday as she weights the possibility of seeking his senate seat from New York, a spokeswoman said.

In our views; Mrs. Hillary Rodham would be a share of vice-president as Al Gore. Long-time allies China and Pakistan discussed military ties yesterday (Feb. 20, 1999) and their ministers were quoted as saying they wanted to enhance their defense cooperation. Chinese Defense Minister Chi Haotian met Pakistani Foreign Minister Sartaj Aziz at the start of five says visit. "Further strengthen the already (existing) friendly and time tested relations between the two countries and their armed forces and would result in further enhancement of cooperation in defense field", a Pakistani government statement quoted him as expressing the hope that his visit.

In our view; India and Pakistani are playing the game of nuclear weapon test. Why Beijing's Chi and Pakistani Aziz discussed the South Asian security situation in the light of tit-for-tat nuclear tests by India and Pakistan last May, according to the Pakistani statement only.

On the other hand; India side would happy such kind of statement? However; we are enjoying that India Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee crossed into Pakistan yesterday (Feb. 20, 1999) to a red carpet welcome from an old adversary, saying the wanted a new beginning with his nuclear rival.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was at the giant steel gates and 44-meter chain link fence that separates the two countries to meet the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Pakistan in 10 years.

This is China's year of the rabbit; we review the history of mainland China:

A. The Tibetan uprising and flight of the Dalai Lama into exile took place in March 1959 that's no way to solve the problems.

B. President and Communist Party chief Jiang Zemin vowed at the end of last year "to nip in the bud" all attempts at social and economic destabilization. Three leaders of an fledging opposition party --- the first to challenge the Communist Party's 50 year monopoly on power --- were sentenced to heavy jail terms.

C. Unceasing military expansion and isolated Taiwan diplomatic space --- Beijing afraid of political reform can make chaos that related to communist China's control.

However, Taiwan needs your support.

For the last, we give our appreciation to you and your family have a good China's New Year and God always be with you.

Sincerely Yours,
Yang Hsu-Tung.
