Dear Mr. President Bill Clinton,
U. S. secretary of state Madeleine Albright said Tuesday(April 28, 1998) Beijing was
expressing political and religious freedom but signs of change must be recognized---
that's right for U.S. stepping up relationship to Beijing.
"Both(Japan, United States) wish to see a China where the authorities do not fear
freedom of expression but rather see it as essential to the development of a stable
society." she said at Sophia university in Tokyo.
"On this issue, especially, we must continue to speak with charity."
"For while some Chinese dissidents have been released to exile in recent months, the
Chinese government's repression of dissent and religious freedom has not ceased." she
added.
"The United States and Japan wanted to encourage Beijing to accept the benefits
and responsibilities of membership in the global community." Albright said frankly.
"The two countries were working to see mainland China integrated into global
trade, help stop the spread of weapons of mass destruction and balance the need for
development with the human need to breathe clean air." Albright called for
recognition of the ways in which China is changing.
It is a good deal; the United States and Japan were working together to help maintain
Asia's stability, expand trade and investment and lend a hand to those struggling for
democracy.
Let's have a new report at the same time. The Dalai Lama called Tuesday(April 28, 1998)
for increased global support for Tibet as Tibetan exiles defiantly renewed a hunger strike
broken up by Indian police and another protester hovered near death after setting himself
ablaze.
The spiritual leader of six million Tibetans pressed the world to help resolve the
issue after visiting the 50-year-old Tibetan who set fire to himself during the protest
against Communist Chinese rule over their Himalayan homeland. The Tibetan Youth
Congress(TYC) said hundreds of Tibetans were ready to join the fast.
Communist Chinese troops marched into Tibet in 1951, apart from the Dalai Lama, who
fled his homeland following a fallen anti-Communist Chinese uprising in 1959.
India is also home to more than 100,000 Tibetan refugees. On the other hand; under
improving PRC-India relationship, the Tibetan refugees would be quitted and no where to
shelter but going to motherland of Himalayan only.
Signs of little change in mainland China about "human right" or "freedom
of religions" is true, but "Taiwan problem" always penalty of Chinese
Communist.
Nevertheless, a weakening of Taiwan's defense would upset the balance of power in the
Taiwan Strait. Such a development would undermine the effort of the U.S. to protest its
political and economic interests in the part of the world.
"God brings us to a place of maturity."
How to built heaven in our world is the place of maturity that's need leader's way
follow God's will.
Pray for you and Mrs. Madeleine Albright, the U.S. secretary of state.
