Dear Mr. Vice President Al Gore,
   Mr. Newt Gingrich,
   Mr. Trent Lott,

Every Taiwanese like to see that eleven allies of the Republic of China yesterday ( July 9, 1998) renewed a motion asking the United Nations to review Taipei's U.N. membership, marking the fifth year of the ROC's bid to enter the world body.

Taiwan want to survive at our world. The republic of China in Taiwan will continue to pursue its goal of joining the United Nations despite U.S. President Bill Clinton's recent comments. Although the U.S. is important to Taiwan's efforts in entering the U.N., it by no means is the only factor.

May it be explained that Clinton's no U.S. support for Taiwan's U.N. membership does not mean Washington is opposed to Taiwan joining the international organization.

But, this kind of explanation, not only "empty" and but also "nothing". Because of the U.S. President Bill Clnton's recent comments, never said it with more appendix.

Even ROC diplomatic allies at the U.N. jointly renewed a nation with the U.N. secretarial, demanding the U.N. general assembly review its 1971 resolution No. 2758 which expelled the ROC and gave its U.N. seat to mainland China. Taiwan government wished to scap the resolution No. 2758 as the first step in its strategy to re-enter the U.N. adding that it will draw out new measures for following stage to realize its goal.

Taiwan at small island. ROC in Taiwan is real democracy and respect human rights. People in Taiwan was threatened by Beijing's military force for a long time.

United States working its policy's interests with Beijing, in which damage the spirit of human rights and democratic confidence of Taiwan.

If, a day of "Beijing and Taiwan" was reunified by communist China, it is the nightmare of U.N., and no body to believe the human rights and freedom of democracy again.

So; Taiwan need your support.

Sincerely Yours,
Yang Hsu-Tung.
